我们一起去游乐场啰！

期盼已久的儿童节又到啦! 花萌百乐中心的小朋友们开心极了！

十月五号一大早，他们们就高高兴兴地来到了学校，因为今天老师要带大家一起去游乐场游玩，有些孩子的家长也来了。瞧，我们兴高采烈地出发啰！来到游乐场，小朋友们以百米冲刺的速度冲向游乐天地。有的去玩滑梯，有的去玩索道飞人，有的去打球，有的去骑车……啊，真是高兴极了！

让我们来比一比，谁的服装最美丽？

欢乐的时光总是很短暂的，一上午的时间在小朋友们的嘻笑玩闹中不知不觉地溜走了，大家意犹未尽地离开了游乐场。明天小朋友们还要参加儿童节的庆祝活动呢！

在老师的带领下，小朋友们在一起猜谜语、玩游戏，进行拼图比赛和服装表演，别提多开心了！祝所有的小朋友们，儿童节快乐！天天快乐！

九月金秋，阳光灿烂，蓝蓝的天空白云朵朵。Yakult,健康之旅，我们出发了！

Yakult为家长和小朋友们播放了肠道健康知识动画片，带着小朋友在人体的“肚子”里进行了一次奇妙的旅程。通过这轻松愉快的形式，让小朋友对人体的健康科普知识有了初步的了解，也为每位参观的小朋友和家长准备了新鲜的维它精饮品和精美的健康涂色册，小朋友可以通过给健康涂色册填涂自己喜欢的颜色，既锻炼了小朋友的动手能力，又增加了对肠道菌群健康知识的认知，培养了小朋友从小就懂得关注自己身体健康的意识。这些礼物深受小朋友们和家长的喜爱。

哇，益多乳酸菌真好喝！

沿着“参观通道”一侧的落地玻璃，维它精的整个生产过程一一尽现，在这里你不会错过任何一个生产细节。我们不仅能将生产过程尽收眼底，还能与维它精专业人员进行沟通，了解更多关于乳酸菌和肠道的健康知识。

了解了维它精作为肠道的守护者，为人体健康所起到的促进作用。参观通道的尽头，几乎所有人都发出阵阵感叹，对于益生菌对人体的健康所起到的作用，有了更深地了解。相聚总是短暂的，短短的半天活动时间，大家都意犹未尽。临别之时，大家纷纷拍照留念。带着一份健康，带着一份祝福，踏上回返的路。

Smart Berrykidz Kids have Strong Bones & Healthy Teeth!

Here comes SMOO the mascot, entertaining the audience with his cow antics!

What can be more thrilling for little ones to learn about the importance of strong bones and healthy teeth than through an animated story-telling and presentation? For the March holidays, Berrykidz took a trip to the Health Promotion Board (HPB) where they experienced an interactive workshop entitled, “Bright Smiles, Strong Bones”. This workshop aims to educate the children on healthy habits and diet to ensure they grow up strong and healthy, with a bright smile!

Featured act was a catchy presentation where the facilitator showed brittle chicken bones and soft egg shells. This illustration portrayed weak bones and teeth. It served as motivating factor for the little ones to keep their teeth and bones healthy and strong. To promote a healthy diet among the children, foods which are high in calcium were also shown.

“Mmm, yummy!” exclaimed the children as they feasted on their healthy snacks.

The highlight of the excursion was when the SMOO cow mascot came out to greet everyone! The children could not contain their excitement at the sight of the life-sized cow mascot, cheering him on as he came out on stage. Next up, was a question and answer segment followed by a round of fun and exciting games, as children engaged themselves with new facts about keeping healthy and strong.

To end the fun-filled day, Berrykidz had a self-exploratory tour around HealthZone as they played enthusiastically in the recreational area and walked about looking at the health related exhibits. Before heading back to school, they enjoyed a cup of healthier Magnolia ice-cream at the garden terrace and each brought home a packet of SMOO milk.
It was indeed an eye-opening experience for the children as they learned the many ways to keep a healthy lifestyle while enjoying healthier versions of their favourite snacks. Till next time!

Cheery Christmas Greetings from Berrykidz!

Blossom Berrykidz celebrated Christmas with games, food, friends, and tonnes of fun! A simple but activity-filled celebration was organised to celebrate Christmas – the joy of sharing, giving and spending priceless time with friends and family.

The celebration kicked off with a christmas movie which tickled everyone’s funny bones and geared the children up for the next round of fun and excitement! Different games were prepared for each age-level, providing opportunities to develop cooperation, sportsmanship and friendship among our children.

Maia completes the Snowman Puzzle on her own. Great job, Maia!

After a round of entertaining games, the children started an endless chatter as they could not contain their excitement as they waited patiently for their turn to receive their Christmas presents.Last but certainly not the least, the festive occasion would not be complete without food! Teachers and children had a jolly good time feasting on yummy treats which our parents lovingly took time to prepare.

Berrykidz would like to extend a big thank you to all the staff and parents who have given their time and continued support to make this Christmas celebration a fun-filled and memorable time for the children.

A Splashing Fun Time on the DUCK!

What a quacking fun time we had sightseeing!

Berrykidz children embarked on a land and sea adventure on the wacky DUCK! Considered as the first and the only amphibious attraction in the Asia, Singapore Duck tours provided the children with maximum fun time while exploring and learning about the different sights around Singapore.

Hopping on this amphibious craft for a sightseeing tour which covers both land and sea, fun began the moment we were greeted by the friendly commentator who guided us throughout the ride, explaining the sights that we saw around us!

Quack, quack! What fun it is to ride around Singapore on the DUCK!

The DUCK took off from Suntec City Mall, then circulated around Singapore’s historical landmarks. Next came the highlight of the tour when the DUCK went splashing into the Singapore River for a riverside tour! The children were absolutely thrilled and excited as they sat relaxed on the DUCK, taking in the sights and sounds of the city

Such interesting and splashing fun views Blossom Berrykidz had of Singapore attractions, such as the Merlion, Esplanade, Marina Bay Sands and many more.

Let’s go Shopping to Learn about Money!

"Hmm..let me count how much money I have." says the shopkeeper

Everyone needs to understand the value of money and learn to use it wisely.

During a Kindergarten 2 Maths activity on the concept of ‘Money’, the class was transformed into a mini convenience store where the children had the opportunity to role-play as a shopkeeper and a customer. The objective of this hands-on, role-playing activity was to allow children the experience of shopping on their own and understanding the concept of tendering amounts and giving change.

Before the activity, the class got into a discussion on the shopping trips they’ve had with their parents and their understanding of pricing and payment. Next, we revised number bonds using dollars and cents. For example, 2 fifty-cents make up $1 and 5 twenty-cents make up $1. Lastly, children and teacher decided on the various items we should put up on sale in our make-believe shop and figured out their estimated cost . With everything set up, it’s time for the children to role-play!

"Here's $5, can I have my change, please?" says the customer.

At the end of the activity, the teacher rounded up the children to ask questions such as: “What happens if you give the shopkeeper too much money? If the item costs $1.50 and you give the shopkeeper $5, it that too much? Should the shopkeeper keep the $5? If not, what should the shopkeeper do?” This helps the children think through and reflect on the many different scenarios that may arise from purchasing in real-life scenarios. Given the broad smiles and laughter filling the room, this activity proved to be an effective and entertaining way to allow children to gain a better understanding of the concept of ‘Money’!

每年农历八月十五日中秋节，是我们的传统节日，因为这天是一年秋季的中期，所以被称为中秋。在中秋节的晚上，大家都仰望着天空的朗朗明月，品尝着各种美味可口的月饼，期盼着和家人的团聚。在此佳节，花萌百乐中心的全体师生和家长们一起，度过这个特别温馨的节日。

中秋，月色如水，湖光粼粼，如秋波闪烁的相思泪花，如悄悄耳语的呢喃情话，情满中秋，一起开动脑筋过个有意思的中秋节吧！中秋节猜灯谜活动，带领大家领略中华民族悠久的灯谜文化，感受中国语言文化的源远流长！

明月千里寄相思，每逢佳节倍思亲。这是一个寄托情思与乡愁的节日，温馨又浪漫，在这个团聚的晚上，品月饼，赏美月，家长们把自己亲手制作的主题灯笼送给他们思念的那个他（她），家长们可以利用这个机会，给自己的家人朋友们送去自己最真诚的祝福。提灯笼，赏花，赏月，一切祝福尽在其中！

今天，我们大家一起怀着兴奋和喜悦的心情，迎接传统佳节中秋节，在这花好月圆、举国欢庆的日子里，通过.“烂漫桂香”亲子游戏活动，对家长们致以节日的问候和诚挚的祝福！窗外秋风送爽，情浓意惬，大家的心情在此刻也无比的激动和快乐。月圆人团圆，亲子游戏，一家其乐融融！

精彩无限！圣淘沙海底世界！

你好吗？我们是朋友，对吗？一切太神奇了！真不可思议！

蓝天，白云，海浪，沙滩，花萌百乐中心的全体老师和小朋友们一路兴高采烈地来到圣淘沙海底世界。这次假期的郊游活动主要让孩子们通过参观、触摸，引导孩子们应用他们的各种感官，积极参与活动，通过活动来扩大他们的视野，增强孩子们爱护环境的意识，并引导他们亲身感受，体验大自然的神奇，从而获得知识。孩子们在接触海洋生物的过程中，感受海洋生物的丰富、美妙与神奇，以及大海的神秘，通过活动，激发了孩子们认识海洋生物兴趣，增强他们保护海洋生物的意识，是一个集娱乐、休闲和教育于一体的综合活动。

好漂亮的水母！

小朋友们来到“触摸池”边，都迫不及待地把小手伸到水里触摸各种各样的海洋生物，“你好吗？”，“你们饿吗？”，这是孩子们发自内心的问候，这是孩子们童真的心灵！最精彩的莫过于参观海底世界，海底世界里的83米透明海底隧道让孩子们悠闲地体验凶猛的鲨鱼近在咫尺，从头顶上呼啸而过，还有罕见的各种海洋生物在我们身边嬉戏玩耍。潜水员叔叔和阿姨们正忙着为鱼儿打理他们可爱的家园，鱼儿鱼儿水中游，游来游去真快乐！

海豚表演，真是精彩！只见两只粉红色的海豚，飞速地游向观众席，不停地在水面上翻腾跳跃，似乎对我们的到来表示热烈欢迎。海豚还给我们献上了许多精彩的表演，如腾空翻身、尾巴踩水和吊嗓子等……活动在幼儿们热烈的掌声中结束了。

活动结束，我们乘坐轻轨列车，圣淘沙一切尽收眼底，一路上，孩子们欢歌笑语，假期活动完美地划上句号！

Three Learning Styles – Visual, Auditory and Kinesthetic (VAK)

Take a glimpse into some fun time with the class of Nursery One (a group of 5 children who are barely 3 years old) as I incorporate Blossom’s 3 learning styles (VAK) into one of our English Language lessons for the letter shape ‘h’.

Flashcard of Letterlander Harry Hat Man

Displaying of flashcards on the wall for a print rich environment
My aim is to provide the children some prints to look at everyday, for them to eventually learn to recognise the shape of Harry Hat Man.

Visual and Auditory
The word ‘house’ is introduced as having the same beginning sound as Harry Hat Man’s ‘h’. To extend the children’s learning on the concept of a house, the story book ‘’This is Our House’ was read. The children learnt through seeing the pictures in the book and by listening to the story.

Auditory
Letterland gives life to each letter as they associate each letter with a different Letterland character! For example: Harry Hat Man hides behind the letter ‘h’ His song lyrics are so catchy that even the very young ones will have no problems singing along.

Kinesthetic
The children not only see and touch but also have a more concrete learning of witnessing a 3D house being constructed with some reusable cardboard!

Our house is too plain. Let’s roll up our sleeves and get messy painting all parts of the house!

They gained awareness of the basic structures of a house eg: walls, roof, windows, door, etc.

After all the workout with the three learning styles, Yong Quan was seen pointing to the letter ‘h’ while browsing through a story book during quiet time.

To further aid in his recognition of letter ‘h’, I flipped to the next page and prompted him to hunt for the letter ‘h’, Harry Hat Man. He exhibited awareness of the letter shape and even attempted to sound its corresponding sound.

The children were also more spontaneous to actively seek for Harry Hat Man, either when they spotted one (the display of sandpaper and flashcard with the letter shape) or when I called out for the shape ‘h’.

Teachers’ Day Celebration 2010 @ Berrykidz

1,2,3,4..Hey, Macarena!

At Blossom Berrykidz, Teachers’ Day is a day everyone looks forward to! Parents and children show their appreciation to the teachers through heart-felt thank-you cards, flowers, thoughtful gifts and cakes. Indeed, our teachers are truly loved and honoured for their commitment to nurturing young lives.

It was a day for the teachers to sit back and enjoy as Cervon from the Kindergarten One and Zoey from the Kindergarten Two started the celebration by playing a piece of music on the piano each. Next up, their Kindergarten One and Two friends put up a surprise performance of ”Goldilock and the Three Bears” and an impressive Macarena Dance for the teachers! All eyes were on the performing kids, as they shaked, rattled and rolled! Kudos for their efforts and outstanding entertaining performances.

Let me see...I think hot pink lips look great on you, Ms Kat!

What’s a celebration without fun and silly games, as the teachers let down their hair and enthusiastically participated in a line up of hiliarious games. As the teachers gamely went all out during the games, our children became an active and supportive audience, who cheered and spurred the teachers on!

To round up the celebration, our very own Berrykidz little make-up artistes showcased their talents and creativity jazzing up their teachers’ looks for the day. Boy, were they delighted to be given the opportunity to apply dazzling eye make-up and a touch of sparkle to the cheeks and lips of their favourite teachers!
