Children’s Day is one of the most awaited celebrations of the year that our children look forward to.  On 30 Sep 2010, the children of Blossom Discovery Centre celebrated it with a blast. This year, the occasion was celebrated with a difference with the aim of promoting family bonding experiences among parents and children.

The talents of our children were showcased during the event.  The K1 and K2 children presented their performance with the use of kitchen utensils as musical instruments whilst singing the “B-I-N-G-O” nursery rhyme.  The N1 and N2 children presented an action song entitled “When You’re Happy”.

There were exciting and fun activities lined up for our parents and children that night and the most thrilling part was the family bonding activity games. Kindergarten children were paired with their parent for a relay game whereby their legs were tied together to accomplish a given task. On the other hand, the parents and children of the N1 and N2 class had loads of fun and laughter playing the “Blind Folding and Eating An Apple” game. It was a hilarious moment seeing the children directing their blind-folded daddies to move towards the direction of their mummies and biting the apple held on their hands.

The wrap-up for the family bonding games ended with a ‘Sandwich Making’ activity whereby participants as a family made tuna and egg sandwiches either on bread or plain biscuits and treated themselves to a sumptuous snack meal that everybody shared and enjoyed.

While the parents and children were helping themselves with the snacks, Mrs Khoo took the opportunity to announce the winners of the E-Card Competition, organised and sponsored by Cyberland International Education Centre. Congratulations to all our winners and we are really proud of you! Each winner walks away with a certificate and prize.

Overall, the Children’s Day event was indeed a great success and it was another commemorative event in the history of Blossom Discovery Centre. Many thanks to all our parents, grandparents and children who have participated in this event.
