Blossom Berrykidz celebrated Chinese New Year with a whole host of fun activities!
The Kindergarten children wrote some ‘Chun Lian’ (Traditional New Year greetings in Chinese Calligraphy) and all the children had a go at making yummy dumplings, reinforcing their understanding of the Chinese culture.
All the children and teachers approached the celebration with much excitement as we donned traditional Chinese costumes while sharing with our children the origins of the New Year, sang along to popular new year songs, created impressive movements for a lion dance and had team-building games. The best part of the celebration was when we finally got to enjoy a hugely anticipated, sumptuous steam-boat lunch!
Back in school on the fourth day of the Lunar New Year, our teachers led a group of children to ‘bai nian’ with our neighbours. With wide smiles and New Year greetings from the children, we established a closer bond with our friendly neighbours!
