Happy 47th Birthday Singapore! The children and teachers celebrated the nation’s birthday with a bang! All the children and teachers were dressed in our national colours, the auspicious red and white. What a beautiful sight it was!
Before the actual celebration started, the children were given a little surprise, they were slabbed with tattoos of our national icons – Singapore’s flag and national flower, the Vanda Miss Joaquim orchid. Chidren were eager yet patient while waiting for their tattoos.
During the sing-along, children and teachers gleefully and excitedly stood on their feet and raised their mini flags high in the air as we crooned to all our favourite national day songs. We started off with the Singapore cheer -S-I-N-G-A-P-O-R-E, rocking to its beats and rhythm. Each class was also called upon to lead and sing, to the various tunes while the rest of the children and teachers sang and dance to their hearts content.
Moving on, children had the opportunity to explore the history of Singapore as both teachers and children shared and discussed the significance of Singapore’s national flag, its stars and crescent and our beautiful national flower, Vanda Miss Joaquim orchid.
Games revolving around National Day were played while the teachers spontaneously joined in the fun. The children cheered enthusiastically for their friends and cheered even louder when the teachers joined in the competition!
It was indeed one of those days that Blossom Educare saw a sea of red and white while having good fun and cheer! Till the next National Day, Singapore!
