Parents are the epitome of love and affection. They make sacrifices, shower their children with unconditional love and play the roles of a provider and teacher to guide their children through the formative years. Parents’ Day is not widely practiced in Singapore however, staff of Blossom Discovery initiated this event mainly to support the roles of parents in the rearing of children and in the hope of showing our appreciation towards parents. Apart from scholastic excellence, we believe that moral and character education are equally important too.
In conjunction with Father’s Day week on 16 Jun 2013, Blossom Discovery celebrated Parents’ Day on 14 Jun 2013, whereby children and their parents gathered together to bond. The K1 & K2 children prepared a breakfast menu showing the beverages available to be served. After the parents picked their choices, the children made the drinks and served these drinks personally. This is one way for children show their appreciation and be a good helper to their parents.
The parents mingled with one another enjoying a sumptuous breakfast, with a spread of sandwiches, tarts, puffs, biscuits too. Following that, all the fathers were invited to cut a cake together as a thank you for all their hard work and dedication towards their children. Making daddy or mummy’s face using modelling clay and poster paint was truly an enjoyable activity filled with loads of fun. As parents and children joined hands to complete the craft, the bonding moments were valuable and priceless.
A big and heartfelt thank you to all our supportive parents who helped make the event a huge success! We look forward to organising a Parents’ Day event again next year!
