Hello, everybody! Guess what day it is today? It’s a day to celebrate for adorable children, like us, and it’s called Children’s Day! We had our awesome Children’s Day in school with fun games and many yummy prizes. Let us tell you what we had for our day!

Yeah! I got a seat!

Yeah! I got a seat!

To start off, all of us gathered in the assembly area as usual but the teachers are not usual today. Instead of singing songs and reading stories to us, the teachers arranged 2 rows of chairs at each side of the assembly hall and announced that we were going to have a game – ‘The Musical Chairs’!  Class by class, we danced round the chairs.  Few of us gave up our seats graciously to our friends.  The last 3 survivors of the game received a cup of biscuits from the teachers! How about the ones that didn’t survive through the game? They also received a Gummy Bear each from the teachers. Yum! Yum!

‘Passing the Parcel’ was the next game in line. As soon as we formed a circle, the teachers gave each group a ‘Magical Parcel’. We passed the parcel hurriedly and some of us were as fast as lightning.  How exciting!  It was delightful to see our friends perform the action shown on the picture cards.  They were brave to show how a monkey climb a tree, an elephant drink water from the river etc.

Hurry up! Don't let the balloon drop to the floor.

The third game we had was ‘Keep the Balloon Flying High’. The teachers formed two small squares box with yellow tapes on the floor. Each class was divided into two groups. Each group stayed inside a square box. The game started off with the teachers throwing a balloon to us and we had to keep the balloon in the air by hitting the balloon lightly.  Sounds easy?  There is more to this game.  We had to keep our feet within the box while hitting the balloon in the air.  It was indeed a funny sight for the onlookers.  Our K1 and N2 children learnt to hit the balloon without moving their feet.  They stayed united at the centre of the box. Aren’t they brilliant?  They sure look like the Statue of Liberty.  Finally, it’s the N1 and PG’s turn.  Their little feet gave them more advantages in the game and it was tough to decide the winner.

Cheers to the ice cream coming up!

A good party must definitely have good food. Each of us was served popcorn, sausages and cupcakes! We wolfed down our food hungrily like little lion cubs.  It was so delicious that we polished off everything that was on the plate. Little did we know, our teachers prepared a surprise treat for us – Ice cream! We couldn’t be happier!

What an unforgettable Children’s Day we had with our teachers. We definitely look forward to the next one!

Happy Children's Day!
