In the movie “Lilo and Stitch”, Stitch said “Ohana means family. Family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten”.
On 23 May 2015, Blossom introduced our inaugural Inter-Branch Sports Day as a Family Day involving Blossom Creative Centre (Blue Team), Blossom Discovery Centre (Red Team) and Blossom Fantasia Centre (Yellow Team) at the Bishan Community Club. Parents, children and staff from the 3 centres played, danced and cheered our hearts out through a morning of fun-filled activities.
The event consists of 8 games and a cheerleading competition. Parents and children enjoyed hopping and running in the game of “Gunny Sack” and challenged by an obstacle course “Stand by Me”. Parents hugged and carried their children to the finish line in “Give me a Hug” and “Big Feet, Small Feet”. Finally, the children’s balancing was tested in the “Ping Pong and Spoon” game as well as the “Bean Bag Toss”.
At the Cheerleading Competition, Blue team danced, rolled and jumped with the remixed “Dance Craze”. Red team chanted, yelled and danced to the beat of “All for One”. Yellow team cheered, jumped and swayed their hips in the tune of “Hoedown Throwdown”.
Friendly yet competitive! Families put on their game faces when they are ready to take on the fun-filled games for the day. Everyone participated with joy and enthusiasm. The day ended with much happiness as all Blossom children brought home their very own gold medal.
We would like to congratulate all the winners:
Blossom Creative Centre: Blue team reigned as Overall Champion with accompanying Best Teamwork Award.
Blossom Discovery Centre: Red team won the Best Cheerleading Award
Blossom Fantasia Centre: Yellow team won the Best Sportsmanship Award
We would like to thank the organising committee, families, volunteers and staff who were there to make this event a huge success! We look forward to more years of fun-filled Blossom Family Day!
