Blossom’s Family Day coincided with the Cold Storage Kids Run on 20 May 2012 (Sat). The Cold Storage Kids Run first started in 2008, targeting children from age 6 months to 12 years old. It is the largest kids’ run in Asia, outreaching to about 3000 children in 2008, 5100 children and 15300 parents in 2011. Tickets for the run were sold out in a jiffy!
Besides injecting a sports element in this year’s Family Day event, some teachers and parents also formed mini groups to have discussions and ideas on Family Bonding with all participants, including the sharing of different bonding activities one can do as a family. While the adults were busy putting their heads together to brainstorm ideas, the children were occupied with games organized just for them. They were led to an area where they were guided to exercise team-building with their friends and teachers. What a marvellous way to make full use of the wide open space at the Padang!
Next up, it was time for all race participants to get themselves ready for the race! Participants young or old were gathered to form a circle to be led by teachers for a simple warm-up exercise! What better way to get ready for the run, but to do some stretches, pulling, rolling and lounges ! Undeterred by the heat, all of us warmed up enthusiastically with groovy music in the background, to be all charged up and ready to race!
On your mark, get set, go! As the participants ran, Blossom’s cheerleaders, made up of parents, siblings and staff lined up at the sides to support the race participants from start to finish. Hip Hip Hooray for all race participants for your support and stupendous efforts to the finishing line! Thank you for creating fabulous memories for another Blossom Family Day!
