Families of Blossom had a blast with the sun, sand and sea at East Coast Beach on our annual Family Day on 17 Apr 2010. Mostly, we got ourselves wet and dirty with SAND that morning!
To start off, the organisers of ‘Castles can Fly’ gave the parents, children and teachers a “crash course” on how to create works of art from sand. Next, we were divided into groups and off we went working on our masterpieces!
Equipped with the necessary equipment of pails, spades and shovels, parents, children and teachers were once again, united as one, as we got down and dirty with the sand! With loads of positive communication and bonding, a dash of leadership and a pinch of problem-solving, the teams worked hand in hand and concentrated hard on building the castles of their dreams.
With sheer grit and determination, each team worked beautifully together under the sweltering sun, to create sandcastles of all shapes, sizes and heights. In the end, everyone was a winner as each team weaved a story behind their masterpiece. Stories of princes, princesses, knights, fairies and countries were shared and team effort and cooperation were applauded.
Before heading home, the families chilled down to rest and relax with a picnic under the shade, in the company of our pride , satisfaction and magnificent sandcastles lining the shores of East Coast Beach.
