Smile for the camera, everyone!

In line with the September school holiday theme on ‘Healthy Eating’, Blossom Discovery went on a trip to ‘Bollywood Veggies’, where children and parents were introduced to different types of organically grown fruits and green vegetables found growing on at our very own local farm.

At the farm, the guide engaged the children and parents in open-ended discussions about the names and different characteristics of the various types of plants. The track brought all of us through an amazing journey of senses as children and adults alike got the opportunity to touch, smell  taste and see the fruits and vegetables.

The highlight of the trip was when the children were treated to a wholesome meal of fish and potato patty burger. We even had the opportunity to sample some of the natural ingredients found in our lunch that were picked freshly from the farm that very morning. It was truly an enriching learning journey as we tracked through the farm, picking up nuggets of plant wisdom that morning, bringing home with us, knowledge and awareness of the natural goodness of locally produced fruits and vegetables.
