Activity 1: “Let’s work together. Do you know how many counters to put on the squares?”
We are learning about numbers 1-5 today! To make our learning more hands-on and creative, we sat in our circle and had 4 different activities to cater to our different VAK (visual, auditory and kinesthetic) learning styles!
Visual
Our first activity is associating the numbers with the counters on our worksheet.
Auditory
Our second activity is a listening game which involves the children identifying the numbers after a certain number is being called out.

Activity 3: “Hey, tracing on sandpaper numbers sure feels different!”
Our third activity is tracing numbers on sand cards.
Visual and Kinesthetic
Our fourth activity is a game called ‘Chunks’ where we grouped ourselves into a group of size equal to the number shown by the teacher.
Kinesthetic
The last activity involves us moulding dough into numbers 1-5.
We certainly had tonnes of fun while learning at the same time! We understood the value of 1-5 and are able to recognise the numbers.
These activities have helped us to understand the mathematical concepts better and boost our confidence in learning through play.
